Access
GMAIL, Yahoo, Hotmail and other webmail based accounts over POP3
100% Free, with Open Source software!

MR.Postman, is an OPEN SORUCE, cross-platform, Java2 based program
that lets you access your
Google GMAIL account from any Pop3 e-mail program including:
MS Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, Eudora, Thunderbird, etc
...and which runs on Linux, Windows, MacOS-X, OS/2, etc.
and it can work in English, French and Spanish!

What
do you need?
- Download
and install the latest Java2 runtime
from Sun Microsystems. At the time of this writing, Java 5.0 has been
just released and it´s MUCH faster than previous releases. Get it from
Sun.com´s page by going to the download web page linked HERE.
A
permanent redirector that always goes to the last available release has
been created on my os2guru.com domain and is linked HERE.
- Download MR Postman
from the program's web page at sourceforge.net.
Right-click on the link, select "Save
as..." and dump the ".jar" file into your Desktop.
- Install
it by double-clicking on the install file and following the
installation dialogs (it's as easy as installing a Windows program by
double-clicking on a "setup.exe" file).
- Download the updated
webmail scripts from THIS
LINK. This is needed if you want to get GMAIL working.
- Go to your favorite
POP3 email client, and proceed to change the following options:
- Your
pop3 e-mail "username:" should be configured as "username@gmail.com"
(or username@yahoo.com etc depending on the webmail service you want to
access).
- The pop3 server
should be configured as "127.0.0.1" (unquoted)
- The "pop3 server
port" should be changed from the default (110) to port 11110
- Make
sure you enable the option labeled "leave e-mails on server" in your
pop3 email program if you want to prevent your mail-downloading from
erasing your email from the webmail server after download (most of use
for Gmail users who wish to leave e-mail online).
- That's
it!. Double click on the new MRPOSTMAN icon to launch the program, and
then use your favorite e-mail program (Outlook, Eudora, Mozilla Mail,
Thunderbird, Netscape 7.2, etc) to download your mail!
